Never land on the X.
Land offset and climb.
An infiltration helicopter does not land on the objective. It lands offset: a ridge or two away, out of sight and earshot, where the ground allows. The ramp comes down, the team gets off, and it goes up the mountain on foot, collecting what it finds on the way, until the objective is in view and understood.
Offset is research done that way. We do not start at the conclusion. We land at a distance from it, in filings, in programme records, in data series we maintain ourselves, and we work up the slope.
